Official inauguration of the stunning panoramic viewpoint
On Wednesday, June 11, 2025, the “Melanda” Viewpoint in Pissouri — one of Limassol district’s most picturesque locations — was officially inaugurated. The project was spearheaded by the Limassol Region Tourism Development and Promotion Company and funded by the Deputy Ministry of Tourism. Designed by Giorgos Pontikas, an Architecture student at Neapolis University, Paphos, the structure minimizes landscape disruption while maximizing visitor experience.
Attendees included:
- Panayiotis Mavroudis, President of the Pissouri Community Council
- Solon Xenopoulos, Dean of the School of Architecture, Engineering and Geo-Environmental Sciences
- Eleni Chatzinikolaou and Chrystalla Psathiti, Lecturers in Architectural Design and Theory
- Christina Kanellaki and Christina Pieridi, company representatives
- Numerous locals and tourists
Guests toured the wooden decking, captured the first photographs of the breathtaking sea vistas, and heard speeches on eco-tourism’s role in sustainable development. The viewpoint features wooden railings, benches, palm-leaf sunshades, accessible ramps, and Braille signage for visitors with disabilities.
“Melanda” has now joined the roster of must-see sunrise and sunset spots in Pissouri, offering unforgettable panoramas of the bay and coastal hills.
